Summer school participants attended TOEIC seminars!

From the end of October to early November 2018, a series of TOEIC seminars took place, led by an AEON English teacher. The seminar was targeted for the nine undergraduate students of the School of Engineering (third and fourth graders) who participated in the two-week summer schools at Shandong University, China and Sungkyunkwan University, Korea as part of the CAMPUS Asia project 2018. They are going to take TOEIC tests on November 18, 2018 or January 20, 2019.

The first part of the seminar mainly covered topics on how to solve problems and how much time you should take for each part of the test. Participating students tried practice tests and enhanced their English vocabulary by learning the essential words and phrases that frequently appear on TOEIC tests. In the latter part of the seminar, they learned how to read aloud and do shadowing to improve their speaking, listening and rapid-reading skills.

The seminar is intended to help students acquire effective self-learning skills for improving their English ability. It is our hope that they will take advantage of their international experience gained through participating in the project, and TOEIC tests will serve as a step towards becoming a global professional who can contribute to infrastructure maintenance in Asia region after they continue their studies at graduate school or after they start working in the global society.
